4-Channel Probes (Qtrode)

Qtrode Chronics

The Qtrode is a low-cost, 4-channel neural probe,. They are ideal for acute and chronic experiments requiring lower channel counts, or for replacing wires. Qtrodes utilize the same technology as our industry-leading Standard probes, featuring exact, reproducible microelectrode geometry and characteristics for consistent recording results. Qtrodes are compatible with the nDrive chronic microdrive.

Qtrobe QIB

The Electrode Interface Board (EIB), shown above, is part of a miniaturized system that allows multiple probe implants in one animal. The EIB interfaces with the Qtrode Interface Board (QIB) to connect to your recording system.

Opto Qtrodes

Qtrodes can also be configured with optical fibers for optogenetic applications. (Shown above: Chronic Opto Qtrode, left, and Acute Opto Qtrode, right)

Qtrode has 2 available electrode site layouts: Linear, and Tetrode. Qtrodes can reach structures as deep as 10 mm, and Linear site layouts can span depths of 150 µm, 300 µm, or 600 µm.

Probe Package and Headstage Interface

The acute Qtrode package uses edge card technology, while the chronic Qtrode package uses a miniature 5-pin connector. NeuroNexus recommends purchasing an appropriate adaptor with your Qtrode to match your headstage.
